Quiet Tide

Painted over a single, unhurried week at the edge of low tide, Quiet Tide began as a study of how light sits differently on wet sand than on dry. The horizon is never quite level — a small, deliberate imbalance meant to hold the eye a moment longer.

Layers of thinned oil were built up in translucent passes, letting the underpainting breathe through the surface like water beneath fog. The palette stays close to what the coast actually offered that morning: slate, sea-glass, and a single warm break of ochre at the shoreline.
