Ochre Fields

Ochre Fields returns to a subject the artist keeps circling back to: the last light on cut wheat, just before the color drains out of the day. The composition is built from stacked, uneven bands, laid down with a palette knife rather than a brush to keep the surface rough and sun-worn.

The linen was left partially exposed at the edges — a small reminder that the painting is a made object, not a window.
